There are Thirty-Three Active members (called SGIG's) of the Supreme Council of the
Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States.
In addition to the Thirty-three Inpectors General in the
Supreme Council, all the other States or Orients in theSouthern

General, have Deputies to the Supreme Council, appointed by the
Sovereign Grand Commander, the operational head of the Supreme Council
structure. I have been elected by the Supreme Council to be the SGIG in West Virginia.
My responsibilities include being in
charge of the operations of Scottish Rite Masonry in West Virginia.
There are approximately half a million members in the Scottish
Rite (Southern Jurisdiction) in the United States and approximately ten
thousand members in West Virginia of which Charleston’s membership is in
the three thousand range.
